38 Years and Counting!

Navasota Theatre Alliance was founded in 1985 by Kim Parks as a grassroots effort to bring the joy of community theatre to Navasota and surrounding towns. Since the early 1990s, the Theatre has thrived as a non-profit organization in its donated historic downtown Navasota building at 105 W. Washington, called the Sunny Furman Theatre, becoming a respected, family-friendly entertainment venue.

Our Mission

Provide live theatre of superior quality, provide a nurturing home to practice our craft, educate and develop new talent, and to make an authentic and lasting connection with our audiences.

From Our President

I fell in love with the Navasota Theatre Alliance in 2010.  I actually was given a part in a play.  When I filled out my audition form it asked, “what other abilities do you have?”.  I checked the box for sewing.  I ended up sewing the skirt I wore in that performance, without a pattern.  I still find myself having to sew for the theatre from time to time.  I have sewn both the pants suits that, Bertha has worn in the Tuna plays we have put on.  I also dressed the actors in both those plays.  I have great memories of being backstage.  I met my best friend at NTA, we bonded backstage.  I have made so many friends at NTA.  The pandemic was hard on all of us.  We are happy to be back, I’m happy to be back. Volunteering at NTA has given me lots of joy.  I’ve told my husband numerous times that NTA is my happy place.  I would like to invite you to share my happy place.  Come see a play with us or volunteer, there is always room for new friends.
